From the back row to her own market stand.
When Jasmine joined our middle-school cohort, she didn't speak above a whisper. By spring, she was negotiating tomato pricing with a farmers-market regular and managing the cohort's $400 capital account.
A year later she launched her own micro-business selling herb starts grown from seeds saved at our Frenchtown garden. The dividends are bigger than the dollars.
